From Sounding Out Letters to Reading the Mushaf
There is a real gap between knowing the Arabic letters and reading a full page of the Quran smoothly. Nazra closes that gap. Your teacher opens the actual mushaf with you, page by page, and listens as you read every word, correcting pronunciation, pointing out where you hesitate, and gradually pushing your pace as your accuracy holds steady.
We track progress by juz, the thirty roughly equal sections of the Quran, so both you and your teacher always know exactly where you stand and how far the finish line is. Most students begin with the shorter, more familiar surahs of Juz Amma before moving through the mushaf from the beginning, so early wins build confidence for the longer stretches ahead.
Nazra is not only for beginners. Adults who already read but do so slowly, or who know they mispronounce certain letters, use this course to correct those habits and read the Quran the way it deserves to be read, before moving on to tajweed or memorization.

What You Will Learn
Reading Milestones From Juz Amma to Juz 1
The syllabus is organized around juz milestones and fluency stages, so progress is visible every month rather than only at the very end.

Juz Amma (Juz 30): familiar surahs first
Short surahs many students already recognize from daily prayer, read slowly with full correction of every letter and vowel.

Juz 29: longer ayahs, steadier pace
Ayahs grow longer and reading stamina builds, with the teacher gently increasing pace once accuracy is consistent.

Juz 1 to 5: starting the mushaf from Al-Fatiha
Reading begins at the start of the Quran, applying everything learned so far to Surah Al-Fatiha and Al-Baqarah.

Juz 6 to 10: building reading speed
Daily pages become longer as word recognition speeds up and the student reads with fewer pauses.

Juz 11 to 15: correcting pronunciation habits
Any recurring mistakes in specific letters or madd lengths are identified and drilled until they disappear.

Juz 16 to 20: reading without hesitation
Unfamiliar words no longer cause a stumble, and the student reads whole pages at a natural, steady pace.

Juz 21 to 25: basic tajweed while reading
Clear madd, correct makharij and simple noon sakinah rules are applied as a habit, not just a memorized fact.

How a Nazra Class Runs
Read, Correct, Repeat, Advance
- First few minutes: a short recap of yesterday's page and any words the student found difficult.
- Main portion of class: the student reads aloud from the current page while the teacher listens word by word.
- Corrections as they happen: the teacher stops gently at each mistake, models the correct sound, and has the student repeat it before moving on.
- Final minutes: the next day's page is assigned as homework and a lesson note is sent on WhatsApp or email.

Quran Reading Course Questions
What is Nazra and how is it different from Hifz?
Nazra means reading the Quran directly from the mushaf with correct pronunciation, rather than reciting from memory. It is the course between Noorani Qaida and Hifz (memorization), and most students who plan to memorize the Quran read it fluently in Nazra first.
Do I need to finish Noorani Qaida before starting Nazra?
Yes. You need to know the Arabic letters, harakat, tanween, madd and the other Qaida rules before reading full pages of the Quran. If you have not covered these yet, your teacher will start you in Noorani Qaida during your free trial.
How long does it take to read the whole Quran online?
With three classes a week, children typically finish in 12 to 18 months and adults in 9 to 12 months, since adults usually read faster once the letters are familiar. Five classes a week shortens the timeline noticeably. See our guide on how long it takes to learn Quran for a fuller breakdown.
Will tajweed be taught during the Nazra course?
Basic tajweed is applied throughout, such as correct makharij, obvious madd and simple noon sakinah rules, so the reading is not just fast but reasonably correct. Detailed tajweed rules and terminology are covered fully in our dedicated tajweed course afterward.
What if I can already read but slowly or with mistakes?
Your free trial class includes a short reading assessment. If you already read but hesitate often or mispronounce specific letters, your teacher builds a plan around fixing those weak points instead of starting from the first page.
