Course Overview
The Foundation Every Quran Student Needs
Noorani Qaida is a short booklet, but it carries the weight of everything that comes after it. It teaches the 29 Arabic letters and their exact sounds, the short vowels that change how a letter is said, the long vowels that stretch a sound, and the small marks that tell a reader when to double a letter, stop it short or join it silently to the next one. Students who learn the Qaida properly read the Quran with correct pronunciation for the rest of their lives. Students who skip it, or rush through it, usually carry mispronounced letters into adulthood without ever knowing something is wrong.
This is why we do not treat the Qaida as a formality before the "real" course. Every class is live and one-on-one, so your teacher hears each letter you say and corrects it immediately, the same day the habit could form. There are no recorded videos and no group classes where a struggling student is carried along by faster classmates.
Whether your child is four years old and meeting the Arabic alphabet for the first time, or you are an adult who wants to finally learn what those letters actually say, the method is the same: small steps, constant repetition, and a teacher who does not move to the next page until the current one is solid.

The Complete Noorani Qaida Syllabus
The syllabus follows the traditional Qaida lesson order, the same order used in Quran academies for generations, with every rule applied to real reading practice.

The Arabic alphabet and letter sounds
All 29 letters in their isolated form, with special attention to the sounds that do not exist in English, such as ع, ح, ص and ق.

Compound and joined letters
How letters change shape at the start, middle and end of a word, and how to recognize a letter no matter which form it is written in.

Harakat: fatha, kasra and damma
The three short vowel marks that sit above or below a letter and change its sound, drilled until they are read instantly without sounding out.

Tanween: the doubled ending
The double fatha, kasra and damma that add an "n" sound to the end of a word, commonly seen at the end of Quranic verses.

Madd letters: the long vowels
Alif, waw and yaa as long vowels, and how to stretch a sound for roughly two counts instead of saying it short.

Sukoon and jazm: the silent letter
The small circle that marks a letter with no vowel at all, and how to blend it smoothly into the letter before it.

Shaddah: the doubled letter
The small w-shaped mark that doubles a letter's sound and adds emphasis, one of the marks students most often skip if not taught properly.

A gentle first introduction to how a still noon changes sound before certain letters, laying the ground for the full rules taught later in the tajweed course.

How a Qaida Class Runs
Repeat, Read, Correct, Repeat Again
- Minutes 1 to 5: quick revision of the letters or rule from last class using flashcards on the shared screen.
- Minutes 5 to 18: the new letters or rule introduced with examples, said out loud together with the teacher.
- Minutes 18 to 27: the student reads lines from the Qaida aloud while the teacher listens and corrects every sound in real time.
- Minutes 27 to 30: recap, a homework page to practice, and a lesson note sent on WhatsApp or email for the parent or student.

Noorani Qaida is a short primer that teaches the Arabic letters, their correct sounds, the short and long vowels and how letters join into words. It is the standard first step before reading the Quran itself, because a student who skips it usually mispronounces letters for years without realizing it. What age can a child start learning Noorani Qaida?
We start children from age 4. At that age lessons are short, playful and built around repetition and praise, with a teacher trained to hold a young child's attention. Most 4 to 6 year olds finish the Qaida in 4 to 6 months of steady classes.
Can adults join the Noorani Qaida course, or is it only for children?
Many of our adult students start here. If you never learned to read Arabic, or you read the Quran from memory without truly knowing the letters, the Qaida gives you a proper foundation with no embarrassment, since every class is private and one-on-one.
How long does the online Noorani Qaida course take?
With three classes a week, most children finish in 4 to 6 months and most adults finish in 3 to 4 months, since adults generally grasp the letter shapes and rules faster. Five classes a week can shorten this further.
What happens after finishing Noorani Qaida?
Students move directly into the Quran Reading (Nazra) course, where the same letters and rules are applied to reading the actual mushaf page by page, building toward full fluency.
